On June 4, 1896 Ford completed his Quadricycle.
Henry Ford built this historic vehicle in a small workshop behind his home, constructing it from a light metal frame, four bicycle wheels, and a twin-cylinder gasoline engine. When it was finally complete at 4:00 AM, Ford realized the vehicle was too wide to fit through the shed door—forcing him to enthusiastically smash through the brick wall with an axe so he could take his creation out for its successful maiden run.
