“Cincinnati” was one of the most famous horses of the American Civil War, gifted to General Grant with the strict condition that he never be mistreated. The massive, thoroughbred gelding was Grant’s absolute favorite mount, known for his incredible endurance under fire and a calm demeanor that perfectly matched the steady, unflappable temperament of the General himself.
